Pinkerton Avocado
Even though this avocado variety is available commercially, we couldn’t resist grafting up a few to sell because we are so impressed by it and feel like we need to convince everyone to plant one. First, the tree is vigorous and precocious to bear. The fruit are a large, elongated pear shape with green skin that surrounds delicious, rich, creamy flesh with high oil content as well as a very small seed. The flesh has an unusual nutty flavor that many find irresistible. Here in cool Santa Cruz County, the Pinkerton can have a problem ripening evenly, but in warmer parts of the state, it’s among the best.
We will begin selling trees for the season in spring 2026; to reserve a tree contact us through the order form and we will add you to our waiting list.
Trees are approximately 2.5 to 3 feet tall (measured from the top of the root ball) and sell for $50 each cash, check or Venmo/Zelle, or by credit card or PayPal with an additional 3% convenience fee.
All trees are sold in a 5″x12″tree pot.
